Against deer ticks that cause Lyme disease: use green tick control Best Yet

Is Best Yet effective against deer ticks that cause Lyme disease – when applied to the skin and clothing? Is it safe to put on the face?  We have plans to go to Cape Cod, but concern about ticks is high.

Using a Green Control for Ticks

Hi,

Good to hear from you.   In response to the below correspondence related to ticks and the CedarCide Products I submit the following.  Use the BEST YET on your skin and clothing for keeping the rascals away from you.  Please read on.

For many years and until the creation of PCO Choice and BEST YET the only remedy for ticks was a razor blade or a match.   Unfortunately there is no magic solution, chemical or Biological that will give you the instant kill results you are looking for.  To kill the tick one must introduce the exoskeleton of the insect, egg and larvae to the cedar oil spiked water or in the case of BEST YET, a very low molecular weight silicone fluid carrier.  When exposed the diluted cedar oil (a bio solvent) fluid will start to etch away at the exoskeleton of the target insect, egg and larvae, subsequently dehydrating the matter and rendering it dead.  This is not an instant process on ticks since they have a difficult shell to penetrate.  Treatment of outside and yard areas are difficult since enough water has to be applied to make sure there is exposure and enough fluid to keep the subject matter wet for a few minutes.  Spray down the brick or wood siding of the structure and all tree trunks making sure they are soaked well. As you spray the ground areas make sure you stay in one spot long enough to see water temporarily accumulate above the soil.  When using the BEST YET, just making them wet with the product will kill them.  Normally the juveniles will die quickly while the adults, which have a heavier shell, will take a little bit longer. When spraying ticks on an animal the tick will die but his pincers will temporarily remain in the animals hide until they release and fall off, often in a few hours. Rest assured, death is imminent.

Treatment of outside and yard areas are difficult since enough water has to be applied to make sure there is exposure and enough fluid to keep the subject matter wet for a few minutes.

Ticks can often be a problem because of their migration habits triggered by the search for a food source.  If you are in an area that is inhabited by animal life, domestic or wild you will experience more tick population than if in a minimal populated area.  Several treatments may be necessary to break the egg layer cycle if new visitors are arriving on a continued basis. Do not be discouraged and rest assured that you are killing many tick, and, in time will see the positive results. Remember, it is only the live ones you see, not the many dead ones.  You are always making great progress in your endeavor.

I hope the above recital is helpful for you in understanding the Tick Dilemma. The use of the PCO Choice and BEST YET will help you control your tick infestation.  Be patient and follow the above instructions and you will win the war on ticks in a short while. Keep your animals treated with the BEST YET and their hide and hair will build up a residual of Cedar Aroma which will help repel the nasty ticks from hitching a ride on him.

Thanks for using CedarCide Products.  Please have a good day
